Engineer Assistant (Internship for 6-months)

What You Will Do

This role will be involved and exposed to R&D projects. Not limiting to learning various inspection techniques, testing of equipment and medical device products and procedures, and ensuring the safety and quality standards are met, also compliance with the relevant legislation, industry standards and internal policies.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Assist with projects assigned to engineering department including but not limited to establishment of clear objectives, planning and scheduling, data trending and analysis, cost assessment, training, implementation, reporting, etc.
  2. Helps to determine overall plant product quality by coordinating the implementation of methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluation of products and production equipment.
  3. Assist QE to establish quality standards and metrics for new processes with relevant stakeholders within the company, defining methods & standards to improve product quality and productivity.
  4. Assists in resolving quality problems by driving efforts of quality, engineering, and operations personnel to identify root causes of problems and appropriate corrective and preventive action.
  5. Coordinates field return/ failure analysis system, calibration, change control and material review board.
  6. Assist for effective closure of quality investigations by mentoring and coaching investigation owners to ensure comprehension, development and execution of corrective/preventive action with regards to cited nonconformity.
  7. Any other duties assigned by the Project Lead or Management.

 

Internship Requirements:

  1. Current undergraduate in Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (i.e. medical, chemistry, polymer materials, physics, computer engineering, biology related discipline, mechanical, biomedical, plastics etc)
  2. Interest in medical device design and manufacturing of capital equipment and sterile medical devices
  3. Proficient in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  4. Possesses resilience, people management and efficient communication skills.
